For Christmas the cousins joined in with our secret santa idea. Christmas has been so much easier since the adults started ss a few years back and while I was looking forward to buying lots of children's pressies for the niece and nephews I also welcomed the chance to only worry about sourcing the perfect thing for two of them - from my two boys. Number One Son drew my glorious niece and she wanted a bird finger puppet. I found one for about half the ss budget so I decided to crochet one for her as well. I have poured over the beautiful website that is attic24 and desired to make so many of her projects. The lovely Lucy posts all her patterns with tutorials which are very easy to follow. However, the item I desired for my glorious niece does not have a tutorial. I closely studied the pictures that Lucy posted and managed to create my own bird. It is not as compact as Lucy's and I eagerly await her tutorial because I'm sure I would never manage to re-create mine but I took many pictures to see if I ever could.
I thought I might be able to look at this pic and see how I made it. Not sure if that would be easy...
Here is the finished project.
I do hope my glorious niece loves it as much as I enjoyed making it.
